Founded by experienced PATH Intl. certified instructors and dedicated volunteers, Suncoast Therapeutic Equine Partners (STEP) provides therapeutic equine-assisted programs that inspire growth, confidence, and connection. Our mission is to open the door to life-changing moments through the unique partnership between horses and humans. As we continue to grow, we are looking for energetic and compassionate volunteers to join our team. Whether assisting participants, supporting horse care, or helping behind the scenes, volunteers play a vital role in our success. No prior horse experience is necessary.

STEP is a 100% volunteer-driven therapeutic equine center dedicated to serving children, adults, veterans, and first responders throughout our community. Through our equine-assisted services, participants ages four and older engage their bodies, minds, and hearts while building confidence, resilience, and connection.

Our Veterans and First Responders Program provides a supportive environment where those who have served and protected our communities can heal, reconnect, and grow. Our Adaptive Riding Program empowers individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, or social challenges to discover new strengths and abilities. Through hands-on experiences with horses, our Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) Program fosters personal growth, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

STEP also partners with community nonprofits that support individuals and families affected by trauma, grief, and other life challenges, extending the healing power of horses to those who need it most.
