Volunteer: Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutor

Volunteer tutors with Manatee Literacy Council help adults improve their reading, writing, and English language skills so they can become more confident and independent in everyday life. Tutors may work one-on-one or with small groups, either virtually or in person, helping learners practice conversation skills, improve comprehension, prepare for employment opportunities, support their children in school, and better navigate daily life in the community. No prior teaching experience is required. We provide tutor training, materials, guidance, and ongoing support. Volunteers simply need patience, encouragement, reliability, and a desire to help others succeed.

Just one hour a week can change a life!
